Welcome to the Lennox and Addington
Community Stewardship Council Website

From Amherst Island in Lake Ontario, to the wilderness of the shield in the north, Lennox and Addington is a county of diverse landscapes.

Along the Loyalist Parkway, and throughout the county, the United Empire Loyalist heritage is reflected in the many quaint villages. The fresh water resources are important to industry, agriculture, tourism and the quality of life we enjoy. The Napanee and Salmon Rivers have historically influenced the settlement and land uses within these watersheds. In the north, the less populated Land O’ Lakes region provides a wealth of outdoor opportunities.

From Denbigh in the north to Lake Ontario, the care of farm land, rivers, streams, wetlands and woodlands is a shared responsibility. Our Council was formed to help sustain the natural wealth of Lennox and Addington County for future generations. Our Council, a community group of people with diverse backgrounds and interests, has developed a common mandate to promote the stewardship of our natural environment. Landowners, other community organizations and the Council contribute time, energy and resources to community projects.

Our natural heritage, passed down from the first settlers, and before them the First Peoples, will one day be passed to our children.
