Establishing natural wildlife habitat corridors along roadsides by planting tallgrass prairie and wildlife shrubs along Highway 40 from Wallaceburg to Sarnia, Ontario.

The Rural Lambton Stewardship Network is one of 40 stewardship councils in southern Ontario who represents the community demographics of the Lambton County area.  It prides itself on taking a grassroots approach to stewardship (bottom up decision making instead of top down approach) allowing the leaders in community, who are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural resources of Lambton County guide initiative development.

Our goal is to achieve and maintain a healthy and sustainable rural environment that will contribute towards both the viability of agricultural and natural resources in Lambton County as well as the social and economic well being of its residents.

Focusing efforts on habitat restoration, conservation, and enhancement, the Rural Lambton Stewardship Network can offer an extensive network of project partners, funding opportunities, human resources and natural resource management expertise, local to Lambton County to assist with private land stewardship projects.

If you want information or advice on different habitat and water initiatives happening in Lambton County, please browse our website and also feel free to contact us.

A new initiative which helps landowners to preserve, restore or enhance wetlands called the Healthy Waterways Initiative is a collaboration between Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ducks Unlimited Canada, St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and RLSN.
