The Grey County Forest Stewardship Network are another group of people dedicated to maintaing the natural splendor of Grey County for its citizens enjoyment and well being. Made up of Grey County residents from many different backgrounds these folks come together to bring and review ideas about how to maintain and enhance the natural resources of Grey County. The Grey County Forest Stewardship Network was founded in 1996 under the Ministry of Natural Resources Ontario Stewardship Program which blankets all stewardship councils in Ontario. This inovative program gives people active in the community the oportunity to dictate what environmental projects are most needed and undertaken in their county. The Ministry of Natural Resources dedicates one employee per council to work solely on the councils behalf, this person is called the coordinator of the council.
