Mission:

To work with others to promote sustainable approaches to natural resource management in Oxford county.

Purpose:


  • To bring landowners and land interest together to facilitate open communication and partnerships to encourage sustainable management of natural resources within our community

  • To foster a stewardship ethic amongst youth to encourage ongoing natural heritage appreciation now and into the future

  • To increase our communities capacity to achieve on the ground results through hands-on volunteer stewardship activities and events

  • To increase opportunities for involvement of under privledged individuals in natural resource management

Guidelines:


  • Respect for landownership and landowner rights will be adhered to

  • Stewardship Oxford will promote resource management from the grassroots rather than political or advocacy level

  • A terms of reference for program governance is followed

  • Habitat Stewardship Projects will benefit the environment and the broader community as well as local landowners
