Council Profile

The Middlesex Stewardship Council is a community level grassroots communication and partnership organization which work towards promoting and implementing voluntary stewardship of agricultural and natural resources in Middlesex County. The council will partner with those private landowners, community groups, and resource agencies that respect private land ownership, to advance and implement practical and sustainable resource management for present and future generations. The council exists to access resources, co-ordinate land stewardship "voices" and develop mechanisms that provide needed services for private landowners in Middlesex County.


Our Vision

Promoting and implementing the voluntary stewardship of agricultural and natural resources in Middlesex County


Goals

· To promote a land stewardship ethic that sustains resources including: air, water, soil, fish and wildlife, forests and other native habitats,

· To initiate, assist and support responsible stewardship projects that address locally identified agricultural and natural resource concerns

· To provide access or facilitate funding for community based projects that protect and enhance natural ecosystems and agricultural landscapes.

· To facilitate between agencies, landowners and various community groups to promote cooperation and pooling of resources

· To promote public awareness and education of a stewardship ethic
