Program Overview

Council Profile

The Rural Lambton Stewardship Network (RLSN) is a grassroots communication and partnership organization dedicated to the care of Lambton County's diverse natural resources.

Since its inception in 1994, as one of the pilot projects for the Private Land Stewardship Project (of the OMNR), the RLSN has been involved in numerous comprehensive, multi-partner, stewardship projects. The main focus of these projects has been habitat restoration, conservation and enhancement.

Building strong relationships and successful partnerships has been the primary focus of the network. This grassroots, multi-partner approach has been very successful in creating the action and cooperation necessary to produce some amazing results. As one can see by the impressive list of partners, the RLSN has proven that, as a project leader, it is a good organization to partner with. Equally important, the RLSN knows how to be an effective project partner when other organizations are able to take the lead and only need the RLSN's expertise in what it does best.

The projects listed on this website (and others not highlighted) demonstrate the Rural Lambton Stewardship Network's enthusiasm for partnering with others. The RLSN is proud to continue, no longer as a pilot, but as one of the provincial network of community driven stewardship councils maintaining its tradition of being an innovative leader and an enthusiastic partner.

Council Vision

"To achieve and maintain a healthy and sustainable rural environment that will contribute towards both the viability of agricultural and natural resources in Lambton County, as well as the social and economic well being of its residents."
