The Russell B. Piper Award
The Russell B. Piper Award is presented annually to an outstanding individual who has been a major influence for environmental stewardship at the local, regional and provincial levels. This usually includes countless hours of volunteer time in the areas of project leadership, raising environmental awareness, networking and resource stewardship. This Ontario Stewardship program award was presented, as well as named after the first recipient, Mr Russell B. Piper in 2004.
Two outstanding members of the Elgin Stewardship Council have recieved this award.
In 2007, Mr. Bill Prieksaitis received the award and is pictured below.
In 2008, Mr. Kit Brown received the Russell B. Piper award.

And in 2010, Mr. Lorne Spicer was the recipient of the Russell B. Piper Award.
Other Awards
Forests for Life recieves 2007 Great Grant Awards for being one of the top three programs supported by Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Murray Alward recieves 2008 Conservation Award from Catfish Creek Conservation Authority.

Forests for Life's Elgin Community Nursery was recognized in Town of Aylmer by winning the 2008 Communities in Bloom Award for the popultation category of 5,001 - 10,000.

Carolinian Forest Festival recieves 2009 Carolinian Canada Youth Award.
Minister recognizes the 2009 Youth Hunting Day event.
