In partnership with the Blind River Trapper's Council, students from the construction class at WC Eaket High School in Blind River built 50 Pine Marten Nest Boxes. These boxes will help the furry creatures raise their young and contribute to the regions biodiversity. Students learned about the biology and life history of the fur-bearer and will continue to monitor the boxes for several years.
Partnering with the Fisheries Management Zone 10 Advisory Council and Trout Unlimited, EASC was able to produce a helpful brochure on Catch, Photo and Release techniques for sportsfishing enthusiasts. Several presentations by avid anglers were developed and presented at various trade shows in the region to promote safe and simple Catch and Release techniques.
